Bourke Accounting is currently seeking an experienced full time Enrolled Agent/Senior Tax Accountant. The Enrolled Agent/Senior Accountant provides our clients (individuals and companies) with the accounting and tax analysis, enabling them to make important financial decisions. Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Enrolled Agent/Senior Accountant is a current IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) that has the ability to represent our clients in IRS audit proceedings. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy are important qualification for this position, as well as good customer relations, and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, works well under pressure, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
We are a fast-paced tax and accounting office where each Senior Accountant manages several clients of various industries.
Job responsibilities include:
Prepare and file federal, state, and municipal/local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly payments for individual and corporate clients
Sales Tax
Payroll Filings
Account Reconciliation
Financial Statements Preparation
Handle all correspondence with IRA, State Taxes & Localities
Requirements
Requirements for the position include:
Current IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) with completion of all 3 modules
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration or other relevant field from an accredited college or university;
Minimum 7 years' work experience as an accountant in a professional services firm or in-house accounting department
Minimum 3 years' experience in preparing state and federal tax returns, preferably using Lacerte tax preparation software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Proficiency in QuickBooks software and Accounting Solutions
Physical Requirements for the position include:
Ability to sit at a desk, conference room or workstation for the entirety of assigned work hours/shift
Ability to operate computer and office equipment
Access transportation to occasionally travel to client sites
Occasional travel to local, state, and national events or meetings for professional development
Communicate in clear speaking voice in person, before large audiences and over audio or video-based communications applications (e.g. phone, Zoom)
