Turner and Patat, PC is a well-established CPA firm located in the Athens, GA area. We have grown to a staff of over 20 professionals with two offices in Athens and Watkinsville. We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This would be a great long-term career growth opportunity.

Job description/Duties

Reporting directly to senior management, the senior tax accountant will fill a key permanent position working on all aspects of client services. Duties would include:

• Preparing complex individual, S-corporation, corporation, partnership, fiduciary, and other local, state and federal tax returns
• Preparing tax planning engagements and communicating tax planning opportunities to senior management
• Researching technical issues for clients and/or the firm
• Monthly client engagement, including QuickBooks, payroll, and sale tax duties
• Recording transactions in ledgers and preparing trial balances and financial statements using QuickBooks software

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting

· CPA (preferred or working towards)

· Public accounting experience in CPA firm

· High potential candidate – career growth path

· Strong tax, communication, accounting, and analytical skills

· Can handle complex 1040/K-1 schedules

· Strong technical skills-keeping up with laws, tech, software, etc.

• Tax experience: 1 year (Preferred)
