Benefits

Health Insurance and Life Plans

UT Health provides a comprehensive medical benefits package designed to protect you and your family from catastrophic health care expenses while offering benefit choices and flexibility. After a short waiting period from the date of hire, UT Health provides eligible full-time employees with a Basic Coverage Package, which includes the UT Select Medical Plan with Prescription Coverage and $20,000 life insurance and accidental death insurance. Part-time employees have the option to enroll in medical coverage and UT Health will pay 50 percent of the premium. UT Health contributes a funding amount toward the cost of the UT Select Medical plan to make health insurance affordable for the employee.

Employees have the option to enroll in additional plans, including:

Dental
Vision
Disability
Flex accounts
Life insurance (up to six times an employee’s salary)
Accidental death and disability (up to 10 times an employee’s salary)


Retirement Plans

Eligible employees of UT Health participate in a mandatory retirement plan and can also participate in voluntary tax-deferred retirement plans, including UTSaver Tax Shelter Annuity 403(b) and UTSaver Deferred Compensation Plan 457(b). Both employees and UT Health contribute to the mandatory Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and/or Optional Retirement Program (ORP) mandatory plans.

Time Off

UT Health provides a generous program of leave benefits including vacation, sick, holiday, parental, funeral, and emergency leave to name a few.
